Climate Change Summit 2021

EuroCham attended yesterday's Climate Change Summit 2021, hosted by the Ministry of Environment and the Mekong Future Initiative, to discuss "Cambodia's Transition Towards a Carbon Neutral Economy: The European Perspective."

On this occasion, we were joined by Mr. Clemens BECKERS, Attaché for Natural Resources and Climate Change at the EU Delegation in Cambodia, provided his remarks on the European Union Green Deal and its implications for Cambodia, along with H.E. Dr. Tin Ponlork, Secretary of State, Ministry of Environment, presented an overview of the country's efforts to achieve carbon neutrality.

During the panel discussion, our panelists addressed their climate goals, measures they've put in place, as well as the challenges and difficulties that their companies have faced in achieving their climate goals. The discussion continued into further details addressing e-mobility constraints, tackle on the solar energy investment, and providing regional best practices for mainstreaming renewable energy investments in Cambodia.

The session concluded with closing remarks by Mr. Tassilo BRINZER, Chairman of EuroCham Cambodia.
