Government-Private Sector Working Group D (GPSWG-D) Meeting on Law, Tax and Governance

On 3 August 2021, EuroCham and its representatives of the sectoral committees joined the Government-Private Sector Working Group D (GPSWG-D) meeting on Law, Tax and Governance co-chaired by H.E. Dr. AUN Pornmoniroth, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance, and Mr Arnaud DARC, co-chairman of the working group. This virtual meeting was also joined by delegates from line ministries, national- and international business associations, and corporates.

Both sides, the Royal Government and Private Sector, convened this meeting to particularly focus on the quarantine requirements for residents, business owners, employees and investors, including (1) the procedure for air travelers to choose an hotel, (2) the re-opening of schools, (3) the reduction of quarantine duration, (4) the guarantee mechanism for travelers who are sponsored to enter Cambodia, and (5) the possibility of adding more hotels as quarantine centers for inbound travelers.

GPSWG-D is one of the thirteen working groups under the Government Private Sector Forum (G-PSF) which was established in 1999 to serve as a reliable dialogue mechanism for consultation between the Royal Government and the Private Sector on investment climate issues ranging from long range policy to day-to-day operations to encourage private sector initiatives. In the G-PSF, Council for the Development of Cambodia acts as the secretariat and facilitates dialogue within and among the government working groups, whilst, the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce ensures the coordination of the different working groups.
