EuroCham AGM & Events Postponed and Actions Against COVID-19

As of June 2020, Cambodia has detected a total of 141 cases of COVID-19. While almost all cases have recovered and the total number of cases is relatively low, the Ministry of Health and the World Health Organization have cautioned that the risk level remains high.

EuroCham’s strength is our ability to bring people together to share and exchange, however the safety of our members, staff, partners and the general public is paramount. Therefore, we are implementing a number of recommended public health measures to maintain high standards of personal hygiene for staff and visitors, and to limit physical contact and postpone large gatherings.

We have postponed the Annual General Meeting (AGM) that was planned for 24 March. As the election of EuroCham’s new Board of Directors was due to take place during this, the existing Board will remain in place until a new date is set for the AGM, the soonest after the end of August 2020.

We have postponed all meetings and events of more than 10 participants, such as our committee meetings, trainings and Breakfast Talks. At this stage, necessary meetings are organized online, especially with Sectoral Committees.

COVID-19 is not only a severe healthcare challenge, but also a significant social and economic challenge. Businesses across all sectors of the Cambodian economy are impacted by the reduced spending, visitors and increased volatility of the global market. Therefore, we will continue to engage with the Royal Government on your behalf to advocate for significant measures to mitigate the impact of this crisis
