MoU between the Counter Counterfeit Committee and EuroCham

On 12 September 2019, at the Ministry of Interior, The Counter Counterfeit Committee of Cambodia (CCCC) and the European Chamber of Commerce in Cambodia (EuroCham) have committed to work together to combat the flow of counterfeit products into the Kingdom of Cambodia.

Represented by His Excellency General Meach Sophana, President of the CCCC and Mr Arnaud Darc, Chairman of EuroCham, each signed the MoU on Cooperation in the Fight Against the Importation, Production and Distribution of Counterfeit Products into the Kingdom of Cambodia during a signing ceremony at the Ministry of Interior in Phnom Penh, today.

The objectives of the MoU are to establish a framework to optimise information sharing practices between both organisations and inform consumers, producers and importers about the risks of counterfeit goods. This cooperation will enable the CCCC to access information concerning counterfeit goods from EuroCham members that hold trademarks to support the CCCC’s approach in identifying and locating such goods in Cambodia. The CCCC and EuroCham will also collaborate to enhance the rules and regulations regarding counterfeit, illegal and unlicensed goods, in order to strengthen the measures at the disposal of the CCCC to eliminate goods that pose a serious danger to consumers and Cambodia’s international reputation.
