G-PSF Private Sector Working Group on Tourism
On September 3rd, 2015, EuroCham joined the meeting of the G-PSF Private Sector Working Group on Tourism (Working Group B) at the Ministry of Tourism, carried out under the leadership of H.E Dr. Thong Khon, Minister of Tourism and Chef Luu Meng, recently elected Co-Chair for the Private Sector.
The meeting was the opportunity to review issues submitted to the Ministry by the Private Sector and to jointly explore ways to improve the tourism and hospitality business and investment climate. On this occasion, H. E. Dr. THONG Khon, Minister of Tourism, announced the formation of 7 Task Forces comprising representatives of the Ministry and of the Private Sector who will meet monthly in order to work on issues affecting business in the sector. Important announcements were made with regard to the promotion of Cambodia to international and national tourists, the enforcement of business license registration and the necessity to further improve cleanliness of the capital-city.
The meeting was attended by representatives of various concerned institutions (Ministry of Tourism, Council of Minister, Ministry of Interior, Phnom Penh Municipality, Siem Reap Province…) and numerous private sector associations such as the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce (CCC), the Cambodia Tourism Federation (CTF), the Cambodia Hotel Association (CHA), the Cambodia Restaurant Association (CRA), the Cambodia Chef Association and several business chambers.
The Secretariat of the Private Sector Working Group on Tourism is ensured by EuroCham with the active participation of the Cambodia Tourism Federation.
