November
1. EuroCham and the Green Biz Committee set the action plan for 2016 - 2017 - November 2
Outcome of the Meeting:
- The Committee confirmed the heads of the following pillars: Renewable energy, Green Building, Green Finance and CSR.
- Representatives of the Green Biz committee will attend the workshop on coastal development in Sihanoukville in December 2016 to speak about green finance and green building
2. Meeting of the Transport & Logistics Committee - November 4
The monthly committee meeting was held at the Maersk office and was a platform for information sharing about the market updates in the sector. Members of the committee also wished to provide inputs for EuroCham White Book to be published in early 2017.
3. EuroCham Tax Committee discussed on new finance law - November 8
The central outcome of the monthly meeting focused on drafting amendments concerning the increment of threshold for sole proprietorship, the calculation base on tax on salary and the 1% minimum tax abolishment. The law is expected to be passed in December. Nevertheless it will need a Prakas to implement the law.
4. EuroCham and the CCC will organize a workshop in occasion to discuss the Prakas on Out-of-hour service for customs official - November 10
5. Tax Policy Meeting - November 15
EuroCham was invited to attend the Tax Policy meeting at the Ministry of Economy and Finance where new Tax Policy Reforms relating to 2019 to 2023 was introduced. In this regards, the current tax system is being reviewed, and chairman of EuroCham Tax Committee attend the meeting to provide inputs for ensuring an appropriate new tax system.
6. Meeting of the Cambodian Tourism Federation - November 17
After going through concrete steps of setting up the Federation, this meeting focused on reviewing the status of a new office-, work- and strategic plan.
7. Meeting with the Real Estate and Construction Committee - November 24
EuroCham Cambodia attended to discuss which updates and recommendations should be included in the 2017 edition. Several topics were discussed as the QIP supplement, the fiscal control during project developments, the strata titling, the practical building standards and fire safety.
8. Meeting with World Bank - November 28
December
1. ISC meeting to disseminate the Prakas No. 150 on Standard Regulations - December 5
EuroCham's Executive Team and members of its Automotive Committee attended the meeting through the invitation from the Institute of Standard of Cambodia. EuroCham raised the concern over the enforcement of the Prakas only on the brand new automobile products and expressed serious doubts over the implementation of regulations in relation to spareparts.
2 The Automotive ExCom meeting focused on the implementation of Prakas No. 150 - December 9
The chairman of EuroCham's Tax Committee and Automotive Committee participated in the meeting and discussed about the issue in relation to Tax and Automotive regulations.
3. Consultative meeting on the draft law on minimum wage to review the feedback from stakeholders - December 12
EuroCham presented all the feedback received from the members as inputs to the draft law.
4. Minimum Wage Law consultations at the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training - December 16
The consultation was hold at the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training with Cambodia's Business Associations & Emoyers and Unions. EuroCham's HR Committee Chair, Djamel El Akra, attended.
