Securities Markets: a Path Towards Growing Business

On June 7 2016, the Cambodia Securities Exchange organized a conference on Cambodia’s Securities Markets: “A path towards growing business”. Financing growth can be an obstacle faced by business owners and Cambodia’s securities market offers a way for businesses to secure additional funding. The CSX conference kicked off with two panels of local and international founders and CEOs who shared the challenges and benefits they experienced after deciding to obtain funds by publicly listing their companies on the Cambodian Stock Exchange.
Launching an IPO for a business requires a range of regulatory and accounting considerations, so the third session brought together underwriters, accounting firms, law firms, and asset valuation experts to offer advice on the best way to prepare for an IPO.
EuroCham’s Advocacy Manager Blaise Kilian moderated the final panel that focused on the current state of Cambodia’s securities market from a government and regulatory standpoint. High ranking Government officials gave their opinions on the future of the CSX and how it could attract more companies. Of particular interest was when the CEO of CSX, H. E. Mr. Hong Sok Hour explained how SMEs can receive support and incentives when listing on the Market.
