Prime Minister Hun Sen’s midterm Cabinet Reshuffle
On April 4 2016, the Prime Minister carried out a mid-term cabinet reshuffle to advance his reform agenda. Following the National Assembly’s approval, the new composition of the Royal Government is the following:
Deputy Prime Minister Keat Chhon has retired from the Royal Government
Senior Minister Im Chhun Lim has left the Royal Government and is announced to become the next president of the Constitutional Council
Deputy Prime Minister Hor Namhong remains in the Royal Government but will no longer be Foreign Minister
Senior Minister, Minister of Public Work and Transport: Sun Chanthol (replacing Tram Iv Tek)
Senior Minister, Minister of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction: Chea Sophara (replacing Im Chhun Lim)
Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation: Prak Sokhonn (replacing Hor Namhong)
Minister of Posts and Telecommunications: Tram Iv Tek (replacing Prak Sokhonn)
Minister of Commerce: Pan Sorasak (former Secretary of State for Commerce, replacing Sun Chanthol)
Minister of Rural Development: Ouk Rabun (replacing Chea Sophara)
Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries: Veng Sakhon (former Secretary of State for Water Resources and Meteorology, replacing Ouk Rabun)
- Senior Minister, Minister of Cults and Religion: Him Chhem (replacing Min Khin who becomes Senior Minister in charge of special mission)
