Breakfast Talk with the Cambodia Securities Exchange
EuroCham was pleased to have opportunity on Wednesday 18th May to host a talk by the management of the Cambodia Securities Exchange (CSX) to raise awareness amongst our membership about the potential benefits of an IPO on the exchange.
At this specialized talk attended predominantly by lawyers and financial service providers operating in Cambodia, welcoming remarks were offered by CSX director H.E. Mr. Hong Sok Hour followed by an information presentation and interactive Q+A session with Mrs. Rachana Heu. Mrs. Heu provided a brief history of the exchange, which was founded in 2011 and will welcome Phnom Penh Special Economic Zone has its fourth listed company within the next month, as well as an overview of its day-to-day operations and guidance on how interested companies can begin exploring the possibility of listing on the exchange.
During a lively Q+A session, additional details were provided about the tax incentives that the Royal Government has in place to encourage companies to list with CSX, and views were exchanged on possible strategies for further developing the exchange.
Of particular interest to SMEs, the CSX has recently launched a ‘Growth Board’ aimed at young and medium-sized companies. The minimum shareholders’ equity for the Growth Board will be $500K rather than the $7.5m in equity required to list on the Main Board.
