Meeting with the Minister of Labor and Vocational Training
On 4 February 2016, EuroCham Cambodia met with H.E. Mr. ITH Sam Heng, Minister of Labor and Vocational Training (MLVT) to make a formal introduction of the Chamber and discuss future cooperation between the two institutions.
During the meeting, EuroCham Chairman, Mr. Emmanuel MENANTEAU, presented the Chamber’s structures and activities. The Chairman also introduced EuroCham HR Committee to the Ministry and sought combined efforts in information sharing and joint activities related to human resources development in Cambodia.
On the Ministry’s side, H.E Mr. ITH Sam Heng gave an overview of the Ministry’s current areas of work and the five key priorities: reforms on working condition and Industrial Relations; reforms on vocational training; labor market information; national social security fund; and public services.
Before the meeting was concluded, the Minister assigned H.E. Mr. Mam Vannak, Secretary of State, to be in charge of supervising and facilitating future cooperation with EuroCham. The Minister also welcomed the possibility of having an MOU between the two institutions.
