Amret offers accessible and tailored financial services to low and middle income businesses and individuals with high level customer service, leveraging on client-centric approach and digital innovations. 

Amret’ s services include savings, loans, transfers, bill payments, insurance, through a variety of channels: ATM, door step services, e-wallet, mobile banking. These enables low-income clients and micro and small businesses to invest in their business and improve living conditions. 
In line with its mission, Amret puts responsible financial practices into all aspects of its business operations. Amret has been at the forefront of designing and implementing the sector’s Lending Guidelines-which aim to limit risks of over-indebtedness. Amret is among the 120 MFIs certified worldwide by the Smart Campaign (https://www.smartcampaign.org/certification) for its Client protection principles.


Amret (formerly EMT) started as a microcredit project ‘Solidarity Credit’ initiated by GRET, a French NGO, in 1991. It became the first Microfinance Institution to get a formal license from the National Bank of Cambodia in 2001. It changed its name to ‘Amret’ in 2004, and became a Microfinance Deposit Taking Institution (MDI) in 2009. Today, Amret is proud to be one of the top 10 financial institutions in Cambodia with impact.  

Amret provides a wide range of financial services for low-income people as well as micro, small and medium enterprises in Cambodia- while at the same time achieving a high level of financial and social performance. More than 500,000 clients trust our services and highly value the personal relationship we have built with them. Amret has assets over USD 1 billion and deposits exceeding USD 500 million.

Amret is a subsidiary of the Advans Group, a leading international microfinance group that provide adapted financial services to low-income clients and SMEs that have limited or no access to formal banking services. Building on the group’s vision- as a major shareholder- and the two reference shareholders, FMO and IFC, Amret is committed to serve clients in a responsible and sustainable manner.
