Bar Supervisors are responsible for assisting with bar operations, ensuring that customers receive the best service possible, upholding a constant level of staff productivity, ensuring that the bar’s budget is not exceeded and maintaining health and safety standards within the bar.
Responsibilities:
1. Maintain appropriate staffing levels – hiring, terminations, maintain disciplinary documentation
2. Ensures the work area is ready for service with pre- and post-service checks completed
3. Engages in guests’ interaction in a sensitive and appropriate manner
4. Supervision and direction of bartenders and bar backs
5. Ensure standardization and consistent beverage preparation, presentation and quality
6. Monitor and control bar beverage stocks and ensure efficient use of products
7. Assist and direct wait staff when necessary
8. Encourage team work and communication with bartenders and wait staff
Qualifications:
1. 1-2 years of restaurant / hotel supervisory role
2. Minimum 1 year demonstrated leadership in a similar role, hotel or high end bar experience preferred
3. Ability to lead the Food and Beverage operations in the absence of senior management
4. Good communication skills
