Background

EuroCham Cambodia was created in 2011 by the existing French, German and British business associations to act as the official chamber of the European business community in the Kingdom.

Since then, it has grown to over 340 members and 6 national chapters. EuroCham Cambodia's core activities are to promote, support and represent its members and European business interests in dialogue with the Royal Government of Cambodia, with the aim of developing a more efficient and fertile business and investment environment.

EuroCham Cambodia creates and disseminates market information tools such as the White Book, the Business Confidence Survey, the Getting Started in Cambodia Guides and the Cambodia Business Opportunity Guides. EuroCham is now seeking a short-term INTERNAL SERVICES CONSULTANT (Khmer National) to support the team between November 2020 and February 2021.

DESCRIPTION OF THE ASSIGNMENT

The INTERNAL SERVICES CONSULTANT (Khmer NATIONAL) will be based full time within the EuroCham office and will report directly to the EuroCham Services Manager for the duration of the 3.37-month contract.

They will be responsible for providing logistical and administrative assistance for the EuroCham Professional Training Program, as well as in assisting in the daily tasks of the services department as and when needed.

The successful applicant will gain experience within the European Chamber of Commerce, they will have the opportunity to contribute towards our 2020 and 2021 Professional Training Program, as well as towards 3 widely disseminated publications during the consulting contract. The applicant will also have the chance to take part in several EuroCham public training sessions.

The role requires the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, time management skills, and adaptability when supporting other tasks required by the chamber.

The role requires native Khmer language skills as well as excellent English speaking, and a good level of English writing.

Scope of Work

Specific objectives of the assignment

The consultant will work under the supervision of, and report to the EuroCham Services Manager.

He/she will be responsible for the following tasks as required, but not limited to:

  • Supporting the Implementation of the EuroCham 2020 and 2021 Training Programs
    • Register and process invoices for event participants

    • Support the development of marketing materials for training courses

    • Contributing towards the selection of training courses

    • Contribute towards timetable of courses for 2021

  • Respond to investor enquiries sent to EuroCham Cambodia

  • Contributing to ongoing research assignments within the team

    • Calling companies, entering data

    • Following up on survey respondents for research assignments

    • Organising and holding interviews in Khmer language

  • Contribute towards business development when searching for new research assignments

  • Supporting other tasks as and when required.

  • Previous experience working with international organisations, embassies, NGOs, or private sector organisations will be considered an asset.
  • Awareness of the Cambodian private sector, and the challenges and opportunities it presents
  • This consultancy is also open to new or recent graduates.
