Join EuroCham for a Breakfast Talk on Seniority Back Payment Obligations and Calculations on Wednesday, July 27 (8:30 AM - 10:30 AM) at Sofitel Phnom Penh Phokeethra & via Zoom,  hosted in collaboration with the Cambodian Federation of Employers and Business Associations (CAMFEBA).

The dismissal indemnity regime was replaced with the seniority indemnity regime after Article 89 of the Labour Law was amended in 2018.

This changed the landscape of how employees are compensated in the Kingdom, with employers now required to make regular security payments equal to 7.5 working days every six months. Previously (pre-2018), employers would pay employees a fixed sum dismissal indemnity payment when a contract was terminated.

Seniority payments were pushed back until 2021 for employees in the country except those employed in the garment and footwear sectors.

With the seniority indemnity regime in full swing, public sector representatives and private sector representatives will discuss the obligations of employers and the methods used to calculate seniority back payments.

The event will conclude with a Q & A session moderated by Mr. Narath Chheav, EuroCham Board Member and Chairman of the Human Resources Committee.
