ARISE+ Cambodia and EuroCham have been proud to launch an 8-event series on the topic of “Export Information for SMEs” over 2021 and 2022. Roughly once per quarter, ARISE+ Cambodia and EuroCham will host an event that shares topics of relevance to Cambodia’s SMEs and exporting companies. The primary objective is to raise awareness of issues and offer tips that can support Cambodian companies improve their business and export performance, and to break down the opportunities & challenges SMEs may face when beginning to export.
Event 5: a presentation series on “E-Commerce for Exporting SMEs” aims to familiarise companies throughout Cambodia with the E-commerce platforms available to them, both to access the domestic market, as well as the international export markets. The event will take place on 10 March 2022 at Raintree Cambodia.
We’ll hear from a legal expert, sharing the latest updates on the implementation of Cambodia’s E-Commerce Law (promulgated on November 2, 2019), and what it means for companies seeking to sell goods online. We’ll learn the theory from one of Cambodia’s leading e-commerce experts, who will also share the guides he has prepared to help SMEs get started on the E-Commerce journey, we’ll hear from an international E-Commerce UI designer, who will guide SMEs through the ideal customer journey they should aim for when designing an E-Commerce portal. Finally, we’ll end with the nitty gritty – an international logistics firm will discuss how to get your products shipped abroad via an e-commerce platform, and we’ll hear from a case study company that has achieved this.

Mr. Guillaume Maltaverne, Trade Information and Advocacy Advisor at ARISE+ Cambodia
Guillaume recently joined the ARISE+ Cambodia program as a trade information event and advocacy advisor to support Cambodian SMEs to export more. Prior to joining ARISE+, Guillaume worked for the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Sweden and Latvia as well as for EuroCham Cambodia to promote the country as a destination for investments.
He holds Master degrees in Political Science from the University of Lund in Sweden and in Economics from the University of Grenoble in France.
Ms. Sreng Nearirath, Deputy Head of Banking and Finance Practice Group at DFDL
Nearirath SRENG is a deputy head of the Banking, Finance and Technology Practice Group at DFDL’s office in Cambodia, and she has 11 years of experience in legal practice. Throughout her career, she advises the international and national banks, capital markets intermediaries, insurance companies, FinTech, E-Commerce, Telecom and other financial institutions on financial services compliance and regulatory matters. She works closely with her clients with innovative solutions when it comes to complex regulatory issues related to these matters. She has significant experiences in both legal and compliance on regulatory matters, particularly in financial and technology including payment gateway, e-wallets, digitalisation and tokenization, cloud, satellite and so forth. She has been actively involved in drafting regulations on E-Commerce and consumer protection.
Mr. Sven Callebaut, International Trade Advisor, MoC | Director, TradeWorthy Ltd.
Sven's work aims at bridging the gaps existing between Government's trade and digital trade aspirations reflected in strategies & policies and development partners' value for money and impact expectations. He achieves this by advising and guiding Government leaders, donors and regional organizations in South East Asia (ASEAN) and the Pacific (PIFS), mostly for Australian DFAT and the WTO. After a 13-year career as a trade adviser for UNCTAD, he advised Governments, on behalf of several donor agencies (Australian DFAT, USAID, EU, GIZ), in particular in Bhutan, Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Samoa,
Tonga, and Vanuatu in accelerating their digital transition and digital trade adoption. He has advised MoC Cambodia for the past 15 years on trade, digital trade and trade integration matters. In addition to the above, he is currently leading several e-commerce acceleration projects in South East Asia (for ASEAN) and the South Pacific. This is carried out on behalf of TradeWorthy, an Australian boutique consultancy firm specialized in trade and investment of which he is co-Principal.
Mr. Chris Wray, E-Commerce Technology Expert, Digital Rain, World Bank
Chris Wray is an independent business and technology consultant and has been advising and delivering successful consulting programmes in the US, Europe and Asia for more than 25 years. Chris’ skills lie in technology, ecommerce, digital marketing and programme management. He’s worked in Retail, Banking & Insurance, Telecoms and Consulting.
Chris also has government and international development sector experience in both typical commercial ventures as well as ventures of sustainability and more, working with institutions such as WorldBank, USAID and others. As well as Chris' technical expertise, he also works to promote Women Entrepreneurs in Technology, Mentors and trains Startup founders and is currently engaged to address and fill the Digital Skills Gap and how the local and global economy can take advantage of Industry 4.0.

Mr. Sim Sousachak - Area Sales Manager at DHL Express Cambodia
Sachak has been working at DHL Express for over 4 years, with the current role as Area Sales Manager in the Commercial department. Prior to this, he has working experiences in international non-profit organization, education and banking sector. Academically, Sachak graduated from the Royal University of Phnom Penh with a Bachelor degree in TEFL and the University of Auckland with a Master degree in International Business. He is an awardee of the New Zealand ASEAN Scholarship (NZAS) in 2016.
Ms. Monika Nowaczyk, CKO at Cambodia Knits & CEO at BeeBee & Bongo
Monika Nowaczyk is the CKO (Chief Knitting Officer) of Cambodia Knits, a local social enterprise focused on creating fair, flexible, home-based economic opportunities for women across Cambodia through the production of white-label and branded, high-quality, international standard handmade toys.
She is also the CEO of Beebee+Bongo, which brings the products of CK to the global market.
Monika is passionate about bringing Cambodian handmade products to international markets and driving impact through employment and soft skills development for women. She has several years of testing and trailing various methods to efficiently sell products globally and she is more than happy to share lessons learnt, tips and strategies with others trying to do the same.
Beebee+Bongo and Cambodia Knits
Moderator - Mr. Tom Hesketh, Deputy Director at EuroCham Cambodia
Tom is the Deputy Director at the European Chamber of Commerce. Here, he manages the Services Department in the implementation of advisory projects that assist institutions and companies either invest in, expand or establish their operations in the Kingdom of Cambodia.
Prior to EuroCham, Tom was a Consultant at Emerging Markets Consulting (EMC), providing advisory services across multiple ASEAN countries. Before this, Tom worked as a Business Management Graduate Scheme entrant for BT Group Plc., and at Pfizer Pharmaceuticals as a Regulatory Strategist at the firms UK headquarters.
