Want to learn how to use social media for business growth? 

Social media plays an increasingly important role in business. It can drive sales, allow firms to engage with their customers, promote brand values, and increase awareness of products and services. For exporting companies, it can also allow them to reach new customers in international markets.  

SMEs are the engine of the Cambodian economy. Over 90% of registered companies in Cambodia are SMEs, and there is an even greater number of SMEs yet to formally register. Supporting SMEs formalise and expand their businesses, with the aim of eventually exporting Cambodian-made products is a key ambition of EuroCham Cambodia.  

To achieve this, EuroCham Cambodia has partnered with GIZ ARISE+ Cambodia, and the GIZ Business Scouts for Development program to develop our SME Export Talk Series.  

This series will open with our Social Media for SMEs on 8th April 2021 via Microsoft Teams.

This breakfast talk will bring together sector experts to provide guidance, recommendations, and hands-on experience of how SMEs (and indeed all businesses) can employ social media for business goals. It will also provide an opportunity to network with like-minded businesses.

Moderator & Panelists

Mr. Guillaume Maltaverne, Trade Information and Advocacy Advisor at ARISE+ Cambodia

Guillaume recently joined the ARISE+ Cambodia program as a trade information event and advocacy advisor to support Cambodian SMEs to export more. Prior to joining ARISE+, Guillaume worked for the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Sweden and Latvia as well as for EuroCham Cambodia to promote the country as a destination for investments.

He holds Master degrees in Political Science from the University of Lund in Sweden and in Economics from the University of Grenoble in France.

Ms. Carola Krainz, Consultant at CULT

As a former athlete, Carola holds an MBA and has 15+ years of experience across marketing, business development, project management, hospitality, and retail. Passionate about sustainability and entrepreneurship, she consults private as well as public entities on marketing and has helped CULT, Cambodia's Ultimate Lifestyle Trade, to become Cambodia's largest platform promoting sustainable lifestyle brands.

 Mr. Vanna Sann, Owner of Dorsu 

Vanna has worked with and for some of the world's leading luxury and consumer brands in Southeast Asia, New York City and around the world. A graduate of Vassar College and Georgetown University, Vanna has an MBA & an MA in Communication, Culture and Technology and is now the owner of Dorsu, an ethical garment manufacturing brand based in Kampot.

Christopher McCarthy is CEO of MangoTango Asia, a growth agency that uses creativity and digital technology to make experiences that drive change and build value.

Chris has been working in Southeast Asia since 2012, helping companies with digital transformation and creative technology solutions for media and marketing. He has held leadership roles for digital strategy at Ogilvy, Omnicom digital groups, and leading ad tech firms.

As a former chairman of the EuroCham ICT Committee in Cambodia, he consulted with the Royal Government of Cambodia on eCommerce and technology legislation; and he has lectured on digital strategy at UC Berkeley, NYU, Princeton University, and the National University of Singapore.

Ms. Nancy McCarthy, Chief Strategy Officer at MangoTango Asia

Nancy brings her global experience in technology, marketing and advertising to Cambodia, where she is head of strategy for MangoTango Asia.

Before co-founding MangoTango, Nancy worked at Nielsen in Singapore, managing market research in Southeast Asia. Nancy worked in New York City as Director of Strategic Planning at Ogilvy, JWT, and Wunderman, working with clients including Microsoft, IBM, Samsung, Pfizer, Johnson & Johnson, Proctor & Gamble, Citibank and MasterCard.

Nancy was a pioneer in digital marketing and was CMO for an important software start-up in Silicon Valley. She is a regular speaker at industry events. She has an M.A. in Social Psychology from Columbia University and a B.A. in Psychology and Political Science from Wellesley College.

Mr. Tom Hesketh - Business Services Manager at EuroCham

Moderator - Mr. Tom Hesketh, Deputy Director at EuroCham

Tom is the Deputy Director at EuroCham. where he manages the services team in the implementation of consulting projects, aimed at assisting European organisations invest, expand and establish operations in Cambodia. Prior to EuroCham, Tom was a Consultant at Emerging Markets Consulting (EMC), providing advisory services across multiple ASEAN countries. Before this, Tom worked as a Business Management Graduate Scheme entrant for BT Group Plc., and at Pfizer Pharmaceuticals as a Regulatory Strategist at the firms UK headquarters.
