The highlight of the event is our guest speaker from the Global Impact Investing Network (GIIN), a global champion of Impact Investing, who will join us from Washington DC via a video conference. She will present the findings of their regional report on the landscape for impact investing in Southeast Asia.

There will also be a panel of speakers consisting of Cambodian-based Impact Investment professionals from a variety of sectors, who will discuss the regional outlook with insights and experience from building this practice and making investments in Cambodia.

Rachel Bass, Research Senior Associate, Global Impact Investing Network (GIIN)

Rachel Bass is a Research Manager at GIIN, the Global Impact Investing Network that has become the standard-bearer for in the impact investment industry. GIIN focuses on reducing barriers to impact investment by promoting activities, education, and research that help accelerate the development of a coherent impact investing industry. Rachel is a co-author of the Landscape for Impact Investing in Southeast Asia report published in 2018 that presents a comprehensive analysis of impact investing activity in the region between 2007 and 2017.


Nodira Amd, Programs Director, Nexus for Development

Nodira Akhmedkhodjaeva is the Programs Director at Nexus for Development where she manages an international team of 5 experts in renewable energy, climate change mitigation, and impact investing. She is also the vice-chairperson on the Green Business Committee of the European Chamber of Commerce in Cambodia where she works to share best practices towards achieving sustainability and contributes to dialogue among stakeholders on specialized green finance products or other topics.

Karen Moik is an Investment Analyst at Insitor Impact Asia Fund and works in the investment team based in Cambodia. Insitor is a venture capital investing fund investing in enterprises that solve critical social issues.

Margarita Manzo, Senior Investment Manager, Pioneer Facility

Margarita Manzo is the Senior Investment Manager working on innovative impact funds at Nexus for Development. Margarita is representing Pioneer Facility Impact Fund that invests in growth stage enterprises working on energy, water and sanitation solutions for low-income, last-mile populations in Asia.

Bora Kem, Partner, Mekong Strategic Partners

Bora Kem is a partner and investment manager at Mekong Strategic Partners, an Investment Management and Advisory Service Firm based in Cambodia. He is also an investor in the Smart Axiata Digital Innovation Fund, venture capital fund created to invest in Cambodia-based digital service companies and start-ups involved in products, business models and other digital system enablers.
