Professional Training Course on Finance for Non-Financial Managers
EuroCham's Training Academy will host the professional training course on Finance for Non-Financial Managers on 5-6 November. This two-day training course offers a comprehensive overview of financial analysis, covering key topics such as financial statement analysis, forecasting, valuation, risk management, corporate finance, financial markets, and behavioral finance. The course is designed to be both interactive and practical, featuring case studies, exercises, and discussions that help participants apply financial analysis concepts to real-world scenarios. It is especially tailored for participants with limited experience in finance.

WORKSHOP AGENDA
Day 1: Morning session: What is Financial Analysis and a Look at the Financial Statements
Participants will discuss financial analysis and why it is important. This will include an overview of financial statements such as the income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statement. They will also discuss key financial ratios and their interpretations. Following this, the participants will analyse
each financial statement in detail:
- Analysing the income statement: revenue, expenses, and profit margins
- Analysing the balance sheet: assets, liabilities, and equity
- Analysing the cash flow statement: operating, investing, and financing activities
Afternoon session: Forecasting, Valuations, Financial Models, and Investing decisions
Participants will apply the knowledge gained in the morning session to Forecasting Financial Statements and Valuation Techniques. This will involve creating a financial model and projecting an income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statement. Additionally, they will utilise discounted cash flow and relative valuation methods to assess the value of a company. Lastly, participants will engage in discussions about Capital Budgeting and Corporate Finance.
Day 2: Morning session:Risk Management, Financial Markets, Behavioural Finance, and Hedging strategies
Participants will discuss Risk Management and Financial Markets,including Identifying and assessing different types of financial risk and Hedging strategies.Then, the session moves to discuss Behaviour Finance including Emotional bias and conflicts of interest.
Afternoon session: Case Study and Group Sessions to reinforce learning
The session will focus on gaining a deeper understanding of the material through real-world examples from different industries. We will then have a group exercise, applying financial analysis to evaluate a company's financial performance and potential investment opportunities.

Instructor background
Our trainer has worked in management roles for 4 Fortune 500 companies (Cisco, Caterpillar, Crane, Equinor) in 8 different countries. Furthermore, he has taught Finance at 4 different universities (MBA and undergraduate) in Asia and the USA, as well as to a long list of medium and large institutions.
He completed an MBA in 2005 from Europe’s oldest MBA Program (Manchester Business School) and received his Bachelor of Science in Management from the University of California, San Diego (USA). He has been the lead lecturer for Woosong University in South Korea, Stamford University in Thailand, The American University of Phnom Penh in Cambodia, and the University of Arizona in the United States.
