EuroCham and CCIFC had the great pleasure and honour to welcome during a Luncheon, Mr. Bruno Bézard, Director General of the prestigious French Treasury, which is similar to the Supreme National Economic Council in Cambodia. The Director General was visiting the Kingdom on his way back to Paris from the G20 Finance ministers and central banks’ Governors in Shanghai where Cambodia has been invited by the Chinese Presidency.
Economic and Monetary Union (EMU) represents a major step in the integration of EU economies. It involves the coordination of economic and fiscal policies, a common monetary policy, and a common currency, the euro. Whilst all 28 EU Member States take part in the economic union, some countries have taken integration further and adopted the euro. Together, these countries make up the euro area and the French Treasury, as the highest advisory body of the French Government for economic policy formulation, plays a key role on it.
What are the benefits European countries get from it? What is the role of France in strengthening this process?
