Matthew recently returned to Cambodia after spending one year in the UK working for His Majesty’s Department for International Trade. Matthew first arrived in Cambodia in late 2018 for a traineeship at the local EU Delegation. The choice had been between Libya, Myanmar or Cambodia. In going for Cambodia, he went for the safe option and never looked back. Despite only expecting to stay six months, he ended up living here for two years and a half, taking on a job as a market analyst for EuroCham. He’s now back for a second helping of this amazing country.
As the organisation’s new Trade and Advocacy Expert, Matthew will now focus for the first 6 months on writing EuroCham’s flagship publication, the White Book 2023. The White Book is the culmination of EuroCham’s advocacy work; it puts forward policy recommendations in several economic sectors for the attention of the Royal Government of Cambodia. The aim is to enhance the country’s business environment to the benefit of all stakeholders. Consultations have already begun to identify ongoing challenges in transport and logistics, agribusiness and healthcare.
