Ready for a new challenge? ASSIST Mekong is looking for a new Cambodian Project & Acquisition Coordinator to join its dynamic team in Phnom Penh (Cambodia) as soon as possible.

ASSIST Mekong is the Cambodian branch of the Asia Society for Social Improvement & Sustainable Transformation (website), an international self-sustaining non-profit organization with headquarters in Manila, Philippines. For the past 13 years, we have been initiating and implementing developmental projects in more than 20 countries. These projects are focusing on capacity building, training and education as well as social security and sustainable development.

We have a long track record in working with International Financing Organizations like ADB or World Bank, the EU and bilateral development organizations like USAID, we also have been partnering with a large number of private companies and NGOs.

Position purpose

The Project & Acquisition Coordinator will be based in Phnom Penh, with travel to the field depending on projects’ needs. He/she will directly support the Country Manager in coordinating on-going projects and helping on proposal writings. He/she will be in charge of developing and implementing an outreach strategy to establish new partnerships in the country but also in Myanmar and Laos.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate activities on projects in different sectors: agriculture, energy, health, safety conditions etc.
  • Define and implement overall outreach strategy to potential partners (NGOs, experts, private companies, public authorities etc.)  
  • Support acquisition process of new projects: proposal writing, consortium building & coordination, coordination with ASSIST’s offices in Vietnam and the Philippines etc.
  • Identify new opportunities: monitoring of key websites and national newspapers
  • Attend relevant conferences, workshops and networking events in Phnom Penh and across the country
  • Document in a timely and detailed manner all activities performed and report to Country Manager or relevant person of the team
Requirements

Education & Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree or ongoing studies in Business, Entrepreneurship, International Development, Environment & Energy or related field
  • Consistent ability for follow-through on all internal/external commitments and communication 
  • Demonstrated ability to work both autonomously and within the Team
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  • Fluent in English and Khmer
