Job Description

EuroCham Cambodia was founded in 2011 and has since grown to a membership of over 285, making it the largest Western business association in Cambodia today. EuroCham offers a range of business services to companies who are interested in exploring investment opportunities in Cambodia, providing market research, technical information and practical advice on how to get started in this exciting Southeast Asian market. EuroCham Cambodia represents its members’ interests and concerns vis-à-vis the Royal Government of Cambodia and seeks to work alongside the authorities to create a more attractive investment environment for European companies, SMEs in particular.

The Events & Communications Manager will be managing the overall activities of the chamber’s events and communications department.

The candidate will be overseeing the organization and marketing/communication of the chamber’s 40+/year events, working in close cooperation with other departments, especially advocacy. In addition, he/she should be able to demonstrate leadership skills in managing content generation and design relating to the chamber’s core pillars of activities: Membership, Advocacy, Services and Outreach. A keen eye for detail as to create and/or fine-tune the chamber’s messaging is key.

The Events & Communications Manager’s mission is to ensure well-positioned, professionally organized, and profitable events with good attendance and strong supplier relations. In addition, he/she will be responsible to create and manage an overall engaging communications plan so that all of the chamber’s members, the general public, and its wide range of Cambodian and international institutional partners, are well-informed about its activities.

The candidate must be able to understand what is relevant to the target groups and devise efficient and structured communication strategies to reach them in an attractive, professional and engaging manner.

The candidate must be fully proficient in written and spoken English, be very organized and detailed-oriented and have previous event planning and/or communications experience within an international business context.







 

Requirements

EVENTS

  • Manage the overall organization & logistical planning of all Chamber events (breakfast talks, luncheons, networking events and forums)

  • Create detailed critical paths for on-site event management and oversee all on-site event logistics (registration, F&B and venue, sponsor, speaker and media relations etc.)

  • Event marketing & promotion. Create email marketing and social media marketing event notifications, including management of media relations

  • Event Sponsorship. Manage all interactions with sponsors (including tracking of sponsor benefits) and recruitment of new sponsors for both events and EuroCham annual sponsor packages

  • Create detailed event marketing timelines & strategy

  • Develop excellent partnerships & relations with the various stakeholders (venues & other suppliers, partners, sponsors & members/event attendees)

  • Strategic planning of various documents such an annual events calendar, annual sponsorship and event sponsorship packages, annual advertising and communications package

  • Detailed event reporting and budgeting to ensure optimal use of resources

COMMUNICATIONS

  • Coordinate, update or generate internal and external publications such as

    • White book

    • Membership Directory

    • Publications containing market information

  • Write and manage newsletters

  • Constantly update and expand EuroCham social media channels

  • Update and expand website content

  • Develop creative concepts and materials for events, marketing and PR

  • Oversee design of newsletters, in-house adverts, the website, as well as promotional materials

  • Source and coordinate with third party suppliers

  • Use content management systems and manage the selective and targeted use of common social media channels

REQUIREMENTS

  • Degree in relevant discipline, preferably a Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Communications, International Relations

  • Min of 5 years of events and communications experience within an international organization or private sector

  • Fluent in English (ideally a native speaker), knowledge of additional European and/or Khmer language is an asset.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal)

  • Good negotiation and client management skills

  • Very detail-oriented, well-organised, able to multi-task and to keep to deadlines

  • Strategic outlook & planner and process oriented
